Lucas Vazquez Set To Leave Real Madrid After Club World Cup Defeat To PSG Saudi Offer Incoming, Credits- Twitter
Lucas Vazquez might’ve just played his final competitive match for Real Madrid and it ended in a disasterclass.
Following a humbling 4-0 defeat to PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup, the writing is well and truly on the wall. Not just for Madrid’s tournament dreams, but also for the veteran’s time at the Bernabéu. Reports suggest Real Madrid are now set to officially announce Lucas Vazquez’s departure in the coming days.
It’s not a shocking development, to be fair. Vazquez had already been skating on thin ice this season, forced into covering Dani Carvajal’s shoes during injury spells and let’s just say the fit wasn’t great.
His defensive weaknesses have been glaring in key matches. Vazquez was part of a Madrid backline throughout the season but with now Dani Carvajal back after his ACL injury and the new recruitment of Trent Alexander-Arnold, his game time would have been seriously depleted.
According to journalist Rubén Martín, Lucas has received a “very important” offer from Saudi Arabia, and it’s not just a casual flirtation. The deal is apparently serious enough for the Spaniard to start thinking about palm trees and paycheck upgrades.
With Madrid already dumped out of the Club World Cup, that 4-0 loss might be Lucas’s last outing in white. It’s no longer about if he leaves, it’s more about where he lands.
Of course, it’s never just one suitor in these cases. Rubén Martín also reports interest from Qatari clubs, who’ve been eyeing Vázquez for a while now. It’s not quite the Real Madrid level, but let’s be honest, neither was his current form.
Saudi Arabia still feels like the frontrunner, with the league already filled with familiar faces. Benzema? There. Ronaldo? Still doing his thing. Lucas could be next on the list of ex-Galácticos heading east.
After nearly a decade of loyalty, versatility, and random bursts of brilliance, Vazquez’s Real Madrid career is quietly approaching its end. No grand send-off, just a 4-0 thumping and a plane ticket, possibly to Riyadh or Doha.
Either way, don’t expect Lucas to be short on suitors. His time in Madrid may be over, but the next chapter promises sunshine, stadium fireworks, and the occasional goal in front of 12,000 fans and a million oil-backed expectations.
