Malaysia To Host Beach Kabaddi World Cup In August; Key Details

Malaysia is set to host the Beach Kabaddi World Cup 2025 next month. The prestigious tournament would be held in the beach city of Port Dickson in Malaysia from 27th to 31st August, 2025.

This will be the first time that the Beach Kabaddi World Cup is being held under the aegis of World Kabaddi with the support of the Malaysia Kabaddi Federation (MKF).

Having hosted the traditional Kabaddi World Cup earlier, it also becomes the first country to host world cups of both variants of the tournament.

Beach Kabaddi World Cup In August: Key Details

This year’s Beach Kabaddi World Cup will feature teams from all five continents taking part and will be the biggest ever international kabaddi tournament ever held.

This will be the first time that 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams will take part in a major international kabaddi tournament.

Twenty-three countries have confirmed participation in the tournament that would be held at the Glory Beach Resort in Port Dickson.

Apart from hosts Malaysia, the men’s competition will see 20 national teams including from India, Pakistan, China, USA, Australia, Egypt, Chinese Taipei, England, Sierra Leone and Kenya.

Among the 16 women’s team in the competition will include Malaysia, India, Pakistan. New Zealand, China, Nepal, Tanzania, England, Canada and Argentina.

A total of 92 matches will take place during the five-day tournament with the finals scheduled on 31st August on on Merdeka Day (Independence Day) of Malaysia.

The full roster of participating teams and the official draw is expected to take place in Port Dickson later next month.

The Beach Kabaddi World Cup will be played on a league-cum-knockout format. Teams will be divided into groups with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the knockout stages.

Individual Awards for Best Raider, Best Defensive Player, Best Player and Best Young Player would also be awarded at the end of the tournament.

The Most Valuable Player for each match will also be selected by the jury.
