Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in captain, Riyan Parag, played a decent knock against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. The match, which is the 11th game of the tournament, is being held at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Riyan Parag’s Confident Start at No. 4
Riyan Parag, batting at number four, looked confident during his time at the crease. As Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in captain, he kept the team in a good position by hitting timely boundaries to maintain the run rate.
He played some excellent shots and was on track for his first half-century of the season. However, his innings ended unexpectedly after he was hit on the elbow, leading to a momentary lapse in concentration, which resulted in his dismissal.
Matheesha Pathirana’s Perfect Yorker Seals the Dismissal
In the 18th over, Matheesha Pathirana bowled a short ball, and Riyan Parag mistimed his pull shot. The ball struck his right forearm, causing severe pain. He dropped his bat and moved aside, wincing in discomfort.
Physios quickly treated him, and he continued playing, but the injury affected his confidence. Pathirana dismissed him on the very next ball.
Matheesha Pathirana delivered a perfect off-stump yorker, arguably the best ball of the match. Parag tried to swing across the line but missed, and the ball crashed into the base of the off stump.
