The likes of Max Verstappen clinching the Driver’s World title in 2025 are increasing every day, especially after Baku, where he won his second consecutive race and narrowed the gap with Championship leader Oscar Piastri to 69 points.
Now, it is mathematically possible for Verstappen to take the title, given he wins every single race out of the 7 remaining ones, and McLaren endures a nightmare weekend, where at least one of the drivers crashes and ends in DNF, while the other one finishes out of points or podium.
And if history has taught us anything, it’s the fact that it isn’t over for Max Verstappen, until it is. He can make it possible if it’s mathematically possible, which has Max fans buzzing with excitement. Even though it’s highly unlikely for this to happen, it’s still possible, but what does Verstappen himself think about it? Let’s see.
Max Verstappen Shoots Down His World Title Hopes For 2025
Recently talking about his hopes for the world title, Max Verstappen told the media, “I just go race by race, what I have been doing basically the whole season. Just trying to do the best we can, try to score the most points that we can. And then after Abu Dhabi, we’ll know.”
“Monza has never really been a particularly strong track for us, so to do that was already a big plus. Baku has been alright, but never amazing, apart from maybe ’21, ’22, I guess. But the rest has always been a bit difficult. So, to have a weekend like this, it was very important,” he added
“Singapore is a completely different challenge again with the high downforce, so we’ll see what we can do there. “It’s difficult to say at the moment, but the last two race weekends have been amazing for us,” he added.
So, it’s clear that he’s not really focusing on winning the title yet, but just scoring some more points and doing his best. So, the next few races will be thrilling as the world keeps an eye on Max Verstappen trying to close the gap with Oscar Piastri, the title favourite.
