The Indian Open Squash 2025 concluded on 28 March. The tournament was held in Bombay Gymkhana, Mumbai, from 24 March and was governed by the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI). The event featured a lot of remarkable performances and thrilling matches. The event was a part of the PSA Copper series for men and a Challenger event for women.
The competition featured a huge prize pool of $38,500, which attracted a mix of established and emerging players. To everyone’s surprise, the women’s singles title was claimed by a 17-year-old prodigy, Anahat Singh, while Kareem El Torkey won the men’s singles. Anahat Singh: The Indian Squash Sensation

Anahat Singh was born on 13 March 2008 in New Delhi, India. She’s a professional squash player and a rising star in the sport. She is the youngest Indian national squash champion and has represented India at multiple major tournaments, such as the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games. She currently holds a career-high ranking of 65 and also became the Number 1 ranked player in Europe, Asia, and India in the girls under-13 category at the age of just 11 after winning multiple European Super Series titles.
She has won some major titles like the British Junior U17 Open in 2025, National Championship in 2023, and 2024. She turned professional in 2023 and has won 21 PSA titles out of 22 finals, marking an impressive record. She also achieved a record-breaking nine PSA tour titles in 2024, which was the most by any woman since 2010. She has won bronze medals at the Asian Games and the Asian Championships, making her a prominent squash player.
Kareem El Torkey: The Young Egyptian Champion

Kareem El Torkey is a promising young player from Egypt. He is known for his exceptional skills and competitiveness spirit, standing at 5’8ft tall, it contributes to his agility and speed on the court. He trains under Omar Abdel Aziz and Mahmoud Abdel. He is ranked as the Number 1 player in Egypt in the BU19.
He also holds five Egyptian national titles and gained popularity after winning the Hong Kong Junior Open in 2019. His recent performances include his first win at the McMillan Goodfellow Classic, where he also earned $15,000 in February 2025. His achievements reflect his dedication to the sport and his potential for success in future.
