Messi’s bodyguard has repeatedly been in the spotlight

North American Major League Soccer (MLS) has banned Yassine Cheuko, the bodyguard of Inter Miami’s 37-year-old Argentine striker Lionel Messi, from entering the pitch during MLS matches, Bolavip reports.

MLS believes that the stadium security staff are sufficient and there is no need for additional assistance.

Messi’s bodyguard has repeatedly been in the spotlight when fans have invaded the pitch in the hope of taking selfies with the star footballer.

“They don’t allow me to be on the field anymore. I was in Europe for seven years working for Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and only six people invaded the pitch. I arrived in the United States, and in 20 months of work, 16 people have already invaded the pitch. There’s a huge problem here. I’m not the problem. Let me help Messi. I love MLS and CONCACAF, but we have to work together. I love helping. I’m not better than anyone, but I have a wealth of experience in Europe. It’s fine, I understand their decision, but I think we could do better,” said Yassine Cheuko.

Cheuko was reportedly hired to protect Messi on the instruction of Inter Miami club president David Beckham. He began working with Messi since the World Cup winner moved to the United States in 2023 to play for Beckham’s Miami.

Cheuko also had been in news for sending a boxing invitation to the famous influencer and WWE wrestler Logan Paul

In the recent weeks, Cheuko also had been in news for sending a boxing invitation to the famous influencer and WWE wrestler Logan Paul after he first asked Lionel Messi to step in the boxing ring to settle there indifferences. Cheuko who has been a trained professional from a long time, accepted the proposal on Messi’s behalf and called Logan a youtube product who just wants clout and fame.

Meanwhile, the cold war between Messi and Paul started after the Argentine footballer launched his Mas+ energy drink. The influencer alleged that Messi copied the idea of his Prime Hydration brand.

It led both companies to file lawsuits against each other.
