The Miami Grand Prix was initially set to run through only 2031. However, in this season of contract extension, where multiple Grand Prix have seen extension in their running period, the Miami Grand Prix has also approached its future beyond 2031. The uncertainty of the event was relaxed by an announcement of a 10-year extension, ensuring the event will stay in the F1 calendar at least until 2041, which is also the longest contract for any Grand Prix in F1.

Stefano Domenicali On Contract Entension

CEO of F1, Stefano Domenicali, said, “In just three years, the Miami Grand Prix has established itself as one of the most important and spectacular events on our calendar, an extraordinary example of quality and vision that truly represents the spirit and ambition of Formula 1 in the United States.”

Growing Populaity Of The Miami Grand Prix

Since its debut in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix has become a fan favourite. The event is held around the Hard Rock Stadium and has drawn massive crowds and record-breaking audiences. In 2024, the event attracted the largest US live audience in F1 history, with 3.1 million viewers. Needless to say, the race now holds a special place in the hearts of the US audience, hence the extension.
