The width and height of the cricket bat have seen major transitions in the past hundred years. And now there are talks over the use of bamboo bats over our current English and Kashmir willow bats.

In a recent interaction with The Telegraph, Michael Vaughan made his way through full-fledged research and questions if Bamboo bats could replace today’s bats. The former Australian Batsman believes that bamboo bats would make the batting easier.

According to the research the bamboo bats tend to provide more efficient and widened sweet spots which could enhance the quality of the shot and balls’ connection with the bat.

This research was carried out by the Cambridge University which suggests that the bats made of bamboo would be lighter and effective in terms of cost and conviction.
