Every T20 World Cup brings a sense of excitement, which involves a number of big hits and a lot of big scores. Teams have made a reputation for being a power-hitting unit because of the number of times they have crossed the 200-run mark in ten editions of the T20 World Cup, including the one that is taking place in India.
Intrestingly four of the top five teams that have crossed the 200 run mark in the T20 World Cup have won at least one tittle but are led by the South Africa team, which is yet to win a World Cup title, be it in the fifty-over format or in the T20 format.

1. South Africa- 6 Times
The finalist of the 2024 T20 World Cup. South Africa has had 200 or more runs in a T20 World Cup innings on six occasions, which included the team’s highest-ever total in the competition, 229, which they posted against England at the Wankhede Stadium in the 2016 edition.
2. West Indies- 3 Times
The Caribbean team has also crossed the 200-run mark thrice in the tournament. The two-time winners registered their highest total in the tournament in the 2024 edition against Afghanistan when they posted 218 runs for the loss of five wickets.
3. India- 3 Times
Like the West Indies, the 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cup winners, India have also gone past the score of 200 three times in the history of the competition, the first of which came in the inaugural edition in South Africa in an important game against England.

The then MS Dhoni-led side scored 218 runs in that particular game, which saw Yuvraj Singh break old and set new records in the same over. It took India more than a decade to score 200 runs in a T20 World Cup match, and they did so against Afghanistan in the 2021 edition, which was followed by another score of 200 this time against Australia in the last edition.
4. Sri Lanka- 2 Times
The winners of the 2014 T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka, have succeeded in posting a total of 200 runs twice in the T20 World Cup, with the island nation still holding the record for the highest team total of 260/6.
The score of 201/6 registered by Sri Lanka against the Netherlands when the tournament took place in the USA and the West Indies is the second-highest score accumulated by them.

5. England- 2 Times
England also finds a place in the list of teams with most 200-plus totals in the history of the T20 World Cup, having done so in 2007 against India when they scored 200 for 6 while chasing a target of 219 against India and in 2016 when the then finalist chased down a target of 230 runs against South Africa.
