The Premier League weekend is a treat to watch for the football fans. On the third matchday, the bookies and pundits were very much bamboozled as it would be having two great games to produce. The first match of the matchday included the Reds from London taking on the Blues from Manchester. It was Arsenal vs Manchester City many fans and journalists said this game would be a one-sided victory for the blues as they would wipe off the reds in their ideology of attack-minded football.
As the game kicked off around 5;30pm IST in lukewarm sunlight, fans were cheering for Manchester, as they were being played in the city’s home ground. Much to everyone’s surprise Arsenal played the game very well, but only till the first seven minutes of the game. As time passed by and the clock reached the 11th minute, there came across from the right-hand side by Gabriel Jesus, which was being headed in by Ilkay Gundogan. It won’t be wrong in saying that it was the beginning of the end for the gunners.
After 4 minutes just as the clock reached 11 Ferran Torres added one more and made the score double. Now city began to pace up the tempo and kept on pressing minute after minute. The Citizen’s midfield and forward line were all over the park as they saw spaces in Arsenal’s playing style and tried their very best to exploit the same. To add more to Gunner’s woes Granit Xhaka was being sent off after a challenge on Cancelo.
This summed up Arsenal’s night at the Etihad as three more goals were being pounced on the ten-man Arteta’s squad. Now after three games Arsenal hasn’t scored a single goal and is now at the bottom of the table with three successive losses.
