The first round of the UEFA Nations League 2024-2025 will begin on September 5, as Spain will look to defend their title.
The Nations League 2024-2025 will have a total of 54 teams split into four leagues based on n their results in the 2022-2023 Nations League. Three leagues A, B and C will contain four groups of four teams each whereas League D will have two groups of three teams in Nations League 2024-2025 .

Nations League 2024-2025: Format
Each team in Leagues A, B and C will play six matches in their group, while teams in League D will play four. All matches will be played on a home-and-away basis.
The League A group winners and runners-up will play in two-legged quarterfinals, with the winners of these games qualifying for the final four in Nations League 2024-2025.
The fourth-placed teams in Leagues A and B will be automatically relegated to Leagues B and C respectively. The two lowest-ranked fourth-placed teams in League C will be relegated to League D, the bottom-most tier.
The four group winners in Leagues B and C, and the two group winners in League D, will be automatically promoted to Leagues A, B and C, respectively.
