The UEFA Europa League 2024-25 is set to start from September 25-26. 36 teams will take part in the competition in this edition for the continental trophy. The final will take place on May 21, 2025, at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.
Europa League 2024-25: New Format
The revamped format will see the number of participating teams increase from 32 to 36 Europa League 2024-25. All 36 clubs will participate in a single league phase, as opposed to the previous group stage format where 32 participants are divided into eight groups of four. Each of the 36 teams will play eight matches in total- four home and four away.
The teams finishing in the top eight will advance directly to the last round of 16 in Europa League 2024-25. The teams that finish between ninth and 24th will compete in playoff matches to determine the remaining eight spots in Europa League League 2024-25.
