On October 24, 1959, Chamberlain started for the Philadelphia Warriors in his NBA debut. When Chamberlain signed his rookie deal for $30,000, or about $279,000 in 2019. He rose to the position of the highest-paid player in the NBA. In contrast, Bob Cousy of the Celtics was the previous highest earning with $25,000, the same sum Eddie Gottlieb used to purchase the Warriors club in 1952. 

Chamberlain has a history of cardiac issues, and in 1992, he was briefly hospitalized because of an irregular pulse. On October 12, 1999, Chamberlain, 63, passed away in his home in Bel Air, Los Angeles. Chamberlain, according to his agent Sy Goldberg, passed away from congestive heart failure.

On February 8, 1990, Klay Alexander Thompson, a professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association, was born. (NBA). Additionally, he won gold medals with the American national team on their Olympic and World Cup squads in 2016 and 2014, respectively. 

On January 8, 2022, Thompson announced that he would return to action on January 9 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thompson helped the Warriors defeat the Cavaliers 96-82 after returning, scoring 17 points in 20 minutes on 7 of 18 shooting from the field. On February 12, against the Los Angeles Lakers, Thompson scored 16 of his then-season-high 33 points in the fourth quarter to lead his team to a comeback victory of 117-115. On March 12, Thompson defeated the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks 122-109 with a then-season-high 38 points, six rebounds, and five assists. The Warriors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 128-107 on April 10 to clinch the third seed in the Western Conference, and Thompson scored a season-high 41 points in the victory.

Gilbert Jay Arenas Jr., a retired American professional basketball player, was born on January 6, 1982. Arenas attended Grant High School in the Valley Glen neighbourhood of Los Angeles and, late in his junior year, accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Arizona. In the 2001 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors selected him as the 31st overall pick.

Arenas have been selected to the All-NBA Team three times, has appeared in three NBA All-Star Games, and was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player for the 2002–03 campaign. Because of his old jersey number and his propensity for making clutch shots, Arenas earned the moniker “Agent Zero.” During his tenure in the Washington, D.C., region, both names rapidly became crowd favourites. Additionally, he goes by the name “Gibby.” Due to handgun infractions originating from an incident on December 24, 2009, and later conduct that seemed to make light of this incident, Arenas was suspended for the majority of the 2009–10 NBA season.

James Edward Harden Jr., an American professional basketball player, was born on August 26, 1989, and now plays for the Philadelphia eagles of the National Association Basketball (NBA). One of the best scorers and shooting guards in NBA history is Harden. While playing collegiate basketball with the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2009, he was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year and a unanimous All-American. In 2012, he contributed to the Thunder team winning NBA Sixth Man of the Year. He aided in their NBA Finals appearance. 

Slovenian professional basketball player Luka Doni Slovene (born February 28, 1999) plays for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also represents Slovenia’s national team. Doni, a native of Ljubljana, had success as a young player with Union Olimpija before joining the Real Madrid youth team. The records for most points scored (4,029) and points per game (50.4) in a season are both held by Wilt Chamberlain. Both marks were set in the 1961–1962 season. When he averaged 37.6 points per game in the 1959–60 season, he also set the rookie records for that statistic.
