Indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra once again created a stir. He won gold by throwing the javelin at 82.27 meters in the Federation Cup being held in Bhubaneshwar. Apart from him, Kishore Jeena and DP Manu also participated in this tournament. Manu won the silver medal by throwing the javelin at 82.06 meters. Apart from this, Uttam Patil won the bronze medal by throwing the javelin 78.39 meters. Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena had already qualified for the Paris Olympics, so they got direct entry into the Federation Cup finals.

Not happy with his Effort
Neeraj Chopra said of his performance at the tournament, “I felt like I could compete here, and it was good. I’m not talking about the throws, though; it wasn’t what I wanted.” The 26-year-old superstar, who arrived after finishing second in the Doha Diamond League, finished second after three rounds. Since then, Chopra has won a historic gold medal at the Olympics in Tokyo, won the global championship in 2023, won the Diamond League in 2022, and successfully defended his gold at the Asian Games in China. Also, he took home three Diamond League leg victories and a silver medal from the 2022 World Championships.
But he has not yet crossed the 90-meter barrier. 89.94m marks his personal best and the national record.
