The visitors snatched a win in the second international friendly match between Nepal vs India with a scoreline of 2-1 at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal on 5th September, Sunday. Well after the previous performance in the 1st Friendly Match against Nepal on Thursday, Indian fans were disappointed and were vocal about their demand to sack Coach Igor Stimac on social media.

Before the match began Today, India’s Coach Igor Stimac made seven changes in the starting line-up. As GK Gurpreet Singh Sandhu was rested for the match, Amrinder Singh replaced him.

Kiran Kumar Limbu (GK/C), Dinesh Rajbanshi, Ananta Tamang, Gautam Shrestha, Tej Tamang, Pujan Uparkoti, Ayush Galan, Aashish Lama, Manish Dangi, Sujal Shrestha, Suman Lama.

Nepal vs India – 2nd International Friendly Match

Nepal was pretty impressive in 1st Half; they had few good chances but couldn’t convert them into goals. They had complete control in the first 45 minutes whereas India was not at its very best.

In Half-Time, the match went goalless. But the situation changed in the 2nd Half, as India lead 1-0 as substitute Farukh Choudhary scores a goal in 62’ after Chhetri’s assist of a header and finds the net. Farukh Choudhary came in for Bipin Singh just after HT.

Throughout the match, Nepal had so many chances but just couldn’t get a hold of it. India finds the net for 2nd time in the 80’ with a counterattack as Sunil Chhetri scores, Anirudh Thapa made the assist.

India at this point were leading 2-0. However, the match was still not over as just in the dying minutes, Tej Tamang scores a stunning goal for the hosts from quite a distance away from the box as the home crowd burst into loud cheers. The match ended 2-1 in favor of India.

The next schedule for the Blue Tigers is the SAFF Championships which is going to be held in October, in the Maldives.
