Atlanta Falcons is an American professional football club centred in Atlanta that competes in the NFC of the NFL. Read to know more.

The Falcons had quite a 379-487-6 record in their 55-year history (369-473-6 in the regular season and 10-14 in the playoffs), earning them the division titles in 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2016. The Falcons appeared in 1966 as an expansion club, and they lost at least 11 of their first 14 games in each of their first three seasons. The squad eventually evolved during the late 1960s and early 1970s to produce a 9-5 record in 1973 behind a defence led by line-backer Tommy Nobis and defensive end Claude Humphrey, just losing out on a playoff position in the process. The Falcons have also appeared in two Super Bowls, the first in 1998 in Super Bowl XXXIII when they were defeated 34-19 by the Denver Broncos, and the second 18 years later in Super Bowl LI, where they were crushed 34-28 in overtime by the New England Patriots.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, originally opened for the 2017 season, is the Falcons‘ current home field; the team’s operations and practice facilities are located on a 50-acre (20 ha) facility in Flowery Branch, northeast of Atlanta in Hall County.
