A running list of all players on a squad, both active and inactive, is called a football roster. Throughout the entire season, coaches and officials use it. It includes the player’s name, jersey number, and sometimes pertinent statistical data, such as weight, height, and game percentages. According to facts, an NFL team has 55 players total, of whom 53 are on the active roster. On game day, though, all 48 players are dressed. Prior to the game, each club names its starting line-up of 11 players.

The three main roster groups for football players are the offence, defence, and special teams. The offence’s goal is to score touchdowns to give their team the advantage. The defence works to prevent the offensive score of the opposing side. Additionally, any kicks or punts that may occur are handled by the special teams’ players.
