Nicolas Jackson has agreed to join Bayern Munich on loan from Chelsea
The striker has a €65 million (£56 million) buyout option and a €15 million (£13 million) loan fee from Bayern, with a sell-on clause. Christopher Nkunku will be sold by Chelsea to Milan for £36 million.
Since Liam Delap and João Pedro joined Chelsea, 24-year-old Jackson has lost favor. In 2023, he paid £32 million to join Villarreal, and in 65 Premier League games, he scored 24 goals.
In his debut season at Chelsea, Jackson scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory at Tottenham after opening his Chelsea account against Luton. He got along well with Cole and scored 14 goals in 35 league games.
Jackson extended his contract by two years last September
Jackson extended his contract by two years last September, extending it until 2033. With two goals in the first leg victory at Djurgården in the semi-final and one in the final against Real Betis, he played a significant role in Chelsea’s Conference League triumph.
However, discipline was an issue for the Senegal international, who was sent off for a purposeful elbow in a Premier League game against Newcastle in May and for a reckless foul after substituting a month later in Flamengo’s loss in the Club World Cup group stage.
Jackson was not used as a substitute in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory against Paris Saint-Germain in the final, but he did return from suspension to replace Pedro in the team’s victory over Fluminense in the semi-final.
Jackson was not included in Chelsea’s squad for the 5-1 victory at West Ham
Despite being healthy and ready for selection, Jackson was not included in Chelsea’s squad for the 5-1 victory at West Ham and was suspended for the team’s opening match of the 2025–26 season against Crystal Palace.

After spending roughly £277 million on new players this summer, the Blues have raised almost £309 million from player sales when add-ons are taken into account.
Due to Uefa sanctions, which included a fine of 31 million euros (£26.7 million), Chelsea is looking to make sales this summer in order to keep a “positive transfer balance” and recruit new players for the Champions League.
