Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani looked heartbroken after Trent Boult dropped a catch of Nehal Wadhera during the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Mumbai batted first and scored a strong total of 203 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma couldn’t score much, but other MI batsmen played important knocks to help the team cross 200.
Trent Boult’s Missed Chance Shifts Momentum
Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma were the top scorers for Mumbai Indians, both making 44 runs. Jonny Bairstow added 38, and Naman Dhir played a quick knock of 37 from just 18 balls to push MI past 200.
Mumbai started well with the ball as Trent Boult dismissed Prabhsimran Singh in the third over, thanks to a great catch by Reece Topley. But Punjab Kings fought back, especially after Josh Inglis hit Jasprit Bumrah for 20 runs in the fifth over.
MI struck again with Ashwani Kumar removing Priyansh Arya in the sixth over, and Hardik Pandya dismissing Inglis in the eighth, reducing Punjab to 72/3.
Nita Ambani’s Reaction to Costly Drop Catch
Shreyas Iyer then led Punjab’s fightback. Mumbai had a chance to get their fourth wicket, but Trent Boult dropped a simple catch off Nehal Wadhera on the last ball of the 10th over. As the ball slipped through, the camera showed Nita Ambani looking devastated, holding her head in disappointment.
