‘No Night Flights’: Indian Cricket Team requests BCCI

After the second Test match against the West Indies, the Indian team expressed dissatisfaction with the itinerary for travel from Trinidad to Barbados and asked that no additional late-night flights be scheduled.

The Indian squad was scheduled to depart Trinidad at 11 p.m. and arrive in Barbados at dawn. However, their aircraft didn’t take off until three in the morning, and they didn’t get to their next location until 5:00 am.

As a result, the management of the Indian squad has asked for better planning for their upcoming trip, asking them to fly early in the morning rather than late at night.

Rain prevented the conclusion of the final day of the second Test match, resulting in India’s 1-0 victory in the two-Test series.

With no play on the fifth day, the second test ended in a draw which meant that the Indian team won the series. The Indian team would have wanted to bowl at West Indies considering the fact that they were in a position from where they could have won.

A BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) official said, “They had left the hotel by 8:40 pm for the airport and had to wait for a long time at the airport. The team management has requested us to book a morning flight instead of late night flights as players want some rest post game. The BCCI has agreed to it and is planning to revise the next schedule.”

Senior players have asked the Indian team management for a day off from training in Barbados as a result.
