Novak Djokovic Returns To Top 5 After US Open; Check Updated Tennis Rankings

Novak Djokovic, a 24-time grand slam champion, moved up three spots to fourth place after reaching the semifinals where he lost to eventual US Open 2025 champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Alcaraz toppled Jannik Sinner to reclaim the World No. 1 in the latest ATP Rankings released on Monday after his triumph.

The Spaniard defeated Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to clinch his second title at Flushing Meadows in New York and his sixth overcall grand slam trophy. He reclaimed the top spot in the rankings for the first time since 2023.

USA’s Taylor Fritz, who lost to Djokovic in the quarterfinals, moved down a spot to fifth. Britain’s Jack Draper, who withdrew before the second-round match in New York with arm injury, slipped to seventh position in the rankings.

Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti and Karen Khachanov swapped the last two spots in the Top 10.

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, who reached the semifinals of a grand slam after four years, took a giant leap of 14 spots to become World No. 13.

Elsewhere, in the Top 100, Czechia’s Jiri Lehecka (16th), Italy’s Luciano Darderi (30th), Spain’s Jaume Munar (37th), Frenchmen Corentin Moutet (39th) and Valentin Royer (90th), Brazil’s Joao Fonseca (42nd), Belgian Zizou Bergs (46th), Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak (62nd), Australia’s Adam Walton (75th) and USA’s Ethan Quinn (80th) achieved new career-high rankings.

How Women’s Fare

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka retained her position after winning the US Open titles in women’s singles. Amanda Anisimova, the outer finalists in New York, made her Top 5 debut in the latest WTA Rankings,

Amanda Anisimova made her Top 5 debut in the latest WTA Rankings released on Monday after her runner-up finish at U.S. Open.

Anisimova, who lost 6-3, 7-6(3) to defending champion  Sabalenka in the final moved up five spots to become World No. 4.

On the other hand, Jessica Pegula, last year’s runner-up, slipped from fourth to seventh after her defeat to Sabalenka in the semifinals.

China’s Qinwen Zheng, who had to miss the last US Open due to injury, dropped two places from seventh to ninth.

Two-time U.S. Open Champion and former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka moved up from 24th to 14th after reaching the semifinals of a Major for the first time since 2021.

Czechia’s Marketa Vondrousova (36th) and Barbora Krejcikova (40th), quarterfinalists in New York, both returned to Top 50.

Spain’s Cristina Buca, who reached the fourth round of a Major for the first time in her career, made a massive jump from 95th to 62nd.

In the Top 100, Ekaterina Alexandrova (11th), Anastasia Zakharova (80th), Denmark’s Clara Tauson (12th), Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian (43rd), Czechia’s Tereza Valentova (77th), and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot (83rd) achieved new career-high ranking.
