Javier Hernandez scored a goal making Odisha FC beat SC East Bengal by 2-1 thus keeping the semifinal hopes alive in the Indian Super League.
After this win, Odisha’s place has been elevated to the sixth place in the points table.
In the match’s early stages, a lot of pressure was applied was the Odisha FC and was rewarded with a goal from Jonathas. Hernandez provided the cross for goals and he made room on the right flank, serving the ball on a platter for the striker who tapped in from close range.
Hira Mondal made an attempt just before half time, looking for an equalizer, but his left-footed strike went wayward.
Odisha FC had regained the lead 10 minutes later through Javier Hernandez who received a lay-off from Jonathas who turned from scorer to provider.

A few minutes later, Javi seemed to have scored another but Mondal managed to make a goal-line clearance to deny him the goal.
