The minimum weight for javelins in the women’s competitions needs to be 600gm while the length of the javelin can be between 2.2m and 2.3m.

On the other hand, in the men’s competitions, the javelins must weigh a minimum of 800g and measure between 2.6m and 2.7m

Hammer throwing has been a mainstay at the Games since 1900. The hammer thrown by male competitors weighs 7.26kg, on the other hand, the hammer thrown by female athletes is 4kg. The weight includes the metal ball, wire, and grip. The wire attached to the weight must not be longer than 1.22m, which is the same for both men and women.

Shot put comes under one of the four main throwing events in the prestigious tournament. Shot put has been a part of the Summer Games since the 1896 Olympics games in Athens. However, the women athletes were allowed to take part in the sport since the 1948 Olympics in Berlin. The weight of the metal ball used in the Shot Put is different for both men and women.

While the men’s shot weight is 7.26kg, on the other hand, the women’s shot weight is 4 kg. The shot is made out of common metals such as iron, steel, and bras.
