PBKS Full Squad, IPL 2026: IPL 2025 losing finalists, Punjab Kings entered the IPL 2026 mini auction in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (December 16) with a purse for Rs 11.50 crore. The franchise ended up spending Rs 8 crore to bring in four new players as they looked to strengthen key areas of their squad.
Represented by captain Shreyas Iyer at the auction table, PBKS made their biggest investments in Australian all-rounders. They spent Rs 3 crore to sign Cooper Connolly and followed it up by paying Rs 4.40 crore to secure the services of Ben Dwarshuis.
PBKS Full Squad, IPL 2026: Focus on Replacing Glenn Maxwell
One of PBKS’s main goals at the auction was to find a long-term replacement for Glenn Maxwell. The management appeared confident that Cooper Connolly could fill that role, and they used their funds carefully to get the deal done.
The 22-year-old Connolly will be making his IPL debut in 2026. Although he has not featured in the tournament before, he has shown promise in the T20 format, scoring 705 runs and taking 13 wickets in 36 matches so far.
PBKS Full Squad, IPL 2026: Trust in Uncapped Indian Talent
Punjab Kings also showed faith in domestic players by bringing back uncapped Indian spinner Pravin Dubey, who had represented PBKS in IPL 2025. He was re-signed for Rs 30 lakh.
The franchise further added depth to their spin department by signing another uncapped Indian spinner, Vishal Nishad, also for Rs 30 lakh.
