Pep Guardiola To Make A Big Announcement On Manchester City Contract: Know Details

Pep Guardiola has agreed a new one-year contract extension with Manchester City, taking his managerial tenure with the club to 2026, according to British media reports.
The deal reportedly has the option of an additional year, too.
The Spaniad’s existing contract with City was due to expire at the end of this season. If the new terms are fulfilled, it would take Guardiola to over a decade in charge of the club.
An official announcement confirming the new contract is expected in the coming days.

The 53-year-old has guided City to six Premier League titles. Under him, City became the first team to win four straight English league titles. He also led the Manchester team to the treble in 2023, winning the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup in one season .
Pep Guardiola’s tenure extension news comes at a time when City’s dominance has been hampered by a series of defeats recently. City have lost their past four matches, the first time Guardiola has overseen such a run in his 15-year managerial career.
“It is a tough challenge, but I am here,” Guardiola said after the third of those losses, the 4-1 defeat at Sporting in the Champions League. “It will be a tough season — we knew that from the start. But this is what it is. I like it, I love it, I want to face it and lift my players and try it.”
Guardiola was also asked in that post-match press conference about links to the Brazil national team, to which he jokingly replied: “After a 4-1 defeat, I’m no longer an option”, before adding that “more than ever, I want to lift up the team and return them to their top level.”

The club is also defending itself in over hundred charges of financial irregularities in an independent Premier League Commission. City has denied all the charges.
As of now, Manchester City are second in the Premier League table with 23 points from the opening 11 matches, trailing ive points behind the leaders, Liverpool.
City will take on Tottenham Hotspur at home on Saturday.
