The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) reaches its summit clash with either Dabang Delhi or Puneri Paltan to be crowned as the champions.
The grand finale of the 12th edition will be held at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Friday, October 31.
Dabang Delhi booked a direct entry to the final by beating Puneri Paltan in a thrilling Qualifier 1 winning 6–4 in the tiebreaker after a 34–34 deadlock in regulation time. Therefore, the Ashu Malik-led team will step into the final with more confidence having edged past the rivals.
On the other hand, Pune Paltan, the table-toppers in the league stage, is set to give a tight fight to Delhi. They have been the most balanced team this season, delivering strong showings in both attack and defence. After going down to Delhi in the Qualifier 1, they regrouped quickly to beat Telugu Titans in Qualifier 2 and earn a rematch for the title.
Pune and Delhi were tied on points at the end of the league stage. Both the teams finished with 26 points each registering 13 match wins and five losses in 18 matches. Pune slightly edged past Delhi in score difference (Pune Paltan 88-38 Delhi Dabang).
Both the sides have met each other three times this season and all the outcomes have been decided through tie-breakers, highlighting how both teams are evenly matched.
With a neck-and-neck rivalry, the final promises to be a blockbuster.
