As of now, there is an uncertainty around Sehrawat’s status with Tamil Thalaivas.

The Missing Captain: Pawan Sehrawat Absent from Jaipur Squad

The drama unfolded when the official Tamil Thalaivas travel video, posted on social media on September 11, showed the full squad arriving at Jaipur International Airport- with one glaring omission. Pawan Sehrawat, the player around whom the team had built its PKL 12 ambitions, was not spotted in the footage. He was also absent from team training photos and other promotional material.

What made the situation more confusing was the lack of any public clarification from either the team management or the player himself. There’s been no official statement about an injury, rest period, or personal issue- and fans quickly began to speculate about a possible fallout or internal rift.

A Risky Gamble Gone Wrong?

Tamil Thalaivas made headlines during the PKL 12 auction when they shelled out ₹59.50 lakh to re-sign Pawan Sehrawat. It was hailed as a bold, emotional homecoming for the ‘Hi-Flyer’, who had briefly played for the Thalaivas in Season 9 before a knee injury ended his campaign prematurely. That season, Tamil Thalaivas shocked many by reaching the playoffs for the first time- largely without Sehrawat’s presence.

The Haryana lad was appointed as the captain for Season 12 and coach Sanjeev Balyan pinning high hopes on him. However, he failed to live up to the expectations with a below par performance.

Once one of the league’s most feared raiders, his underwhelming form has coincided with a slow start for the Thalaivas, who sit in the bottom half of the table with just one win from three matches.
