Tamil Thalaivas have named Pawan Sehrawat as captain and Arjun Deshwal as vice-captain for Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12).
Sehrawat is one of the most celebrated high-flyers of PKL. He has always thrilled fans. Thalaivas purchased him for ₹2.26 crore during Season 9, making him the PKL’s costliest player.
Tamil Thalaivas Looks For A New Dawn At PKL 12
The Haryana lad began his captaincy journey with the Bengaluru Bulls in PKL 7. He led the franchise for a couple of seasons before moving to Tamil Thalaivas.
The raider was the captain of the Telugu Titans for the last two PKL seasons. He led the Titans throughout PKL Season 10 and for half a season in the previous edition of the league. As a player, Pawan earned 134 points in 13 matches in the 11th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Pawan won gold medals for India at the 2019 South Asian Games and the 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship. He also plays for Reserve Bank of India.
Head Coach Sanjeev Balyan said, “Pawan is a proven leader and one of the most feared players in the league. His ability to handle pressure, inspire his teammates, and deliver in crucial moments makes him the ideal captain to lead Tamil Thalaivas this season.”
Sehrawat will be assisted by Arjun Deshwal as his deputy, who had earlier served as the vice-captain of Jaipur Pink Panthers.
He guided the Jaipur-based team to 12 wins, nine losses, and a couple of ties in 23 encounters. On the mat, the raider from Uttar Pradesh bagged 230 points, including 227 raid points and three tackle points.
Arjun is an award-winning raider and is a DSP with the Uttar Pradesh state police force at present. His achievement-laden career boasts of winning the gold medal with the Indian national team at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

On vice-captain Arjun Deshwal, Sanjeev added: “I’ve had the privilege of working with Arjun when he captained Jaipur Pink Panthers, and I know first-hand the dedication, discipline, and composure he brings to the game. He is a natural leader on and off the mat, and together with Pawan, they form a formidable leadership core.”
In conjunction with the leadership reveal, Tamil Thalaivas also launched their Season 12 main kit. With an all-blue colour scheme and bold gold accents, the kit is a reflection of the team’s revitalised energy and drive. The gold represents the season’s ultimate goal, winning the largest kabaddi prize.
