NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi complimented India on their best-ever performance in the Cadet (U-17) World Wrestling Championship, where they won the most medals.
Female athletes earned five of India’s seven gold medals, according to Modi.
“India won 14 medals at the Cadet (U-17) World Wrestling Championship, including seven golds (five of which were won by female participants) and a gold in Greco Roman. India has also taken home the most medals. Congratulations to everyone in our team!” The Prime Minister declared in a tweet.
With 14 medals including 7 Golds (of which 5 were won by women athletes) and a Gold in Greco Roman after 32 years, India's performance at the Cadet (U-17) World Wrestling Championship has been the best ever.
