Premier League: All Title Winners In History

6 Min Read

The Premier League is a professional association football league in England and the highest level of the English football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it is one of the most widely viewed sports events in the world.

The competition was founded as the FA Premier League on 20 February 1992, following the decision of First Division (the top-tier league from 1888 until 1992) clubs to break away from the English Football League.

Fifty-one clubs have competed in the Premier League since its inception in 1992: 49 from England and 2 from Wales. Seven have won the title: Manchester United (13), Manchester City (8), Chelsea (5), Arsenal (3), Liverpool (2), Blackburn Rovers (1) and Leicester City (1).
