The Premier League summer transfer windows shut on Friday August 30 at 11pm. The deadline day was action-packed and saw some last-minute transfers. The total summer outlay by Premier League teams stood more than £1.96bn.
Here are some of the big Premier League transfers that took place of the deadline day:
Jadon Sancho to Chelsea
Chelsea have completed a loan deal for Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho on the deadline day of Premier League transfers. The deal will reportedly include an obligation to purchase if certain markers are met.
Sancho has scored 12 goals and made six assists in 83 appearances for United since signing from Dortmund for £73m three years ago.
The England star fell out of favour at United last season after a public dispute with manager Erik Ten Hag after which he was loaned out to Dortmund. The forward was welcomed back into Ten Hag’s squad this summer but he only made a brief appearance from the bench in the Community Shield.
Raheem Sterling to Chelsea
Raheem Sterling moves to Arsenal on a season-long loan after being a persona-non-grata at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca. The 29-year-old England winger has played 81 games for Blues since £47.5m transfer from Manchester City in 2022. The switch reunites him with former Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta.
In one of the most anticipated Premier League transfers, Sterling has joined Arsenal after a deal sheet was submitted to allow his move to go through beyond the transfer deadline.
Manuel Ugarte transfer to Manchester United
Manchester United has signed midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain for an initial fee of £42m. This figure could rise to £50.5m with performance-related add-ons. Ugarte had been on United’s radar for the want of a midfielder this summer. It was a mutual feeling as Ugarte had his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.
PSG and United had both been keen to close a permanent deal. The talks were held regarding a loan move which included an obligation to buy.
The midfielder made 25 appearances for PSG last season and ended the campaign without scoring any goal.
Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have closed a £30 million deal for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah. The fee stands at £25m upfront plus £5m in performance-related add-ons.
Nottingham Forest previously agreed a deal with Arsenal for the 25-year-old English player, but couldn’t see through a negotiation with the player, while an unnamed European club were also keen on him.
Nketiah, who scored 38 goals in 168 appearances in all competitions in seven years at Arsenal, including 19 times in 116 Premier League games, has left the Emirates in order to get more regular first-team football.
The striker becomes the club’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, Ismaïla Sarr and Maxence Lacroix in Crystal Palace’s squad.

Aaron Ramsdale transfer to Southampton
The fixed fee for Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly £18m which could potentially rise to £25m. Ramsdale, who was under contract with Arsenal until 2026, lost his position as first-choice goalkeeper to David Raya last season as speculations were rife he would leave the Emirates this summer.
The England goalkeeper joined Arsenal from Sheffield United for £30m in 2021, and played 89 games for the Gunners in all competitions.
