Following the filing of a criminal complaint against them before the Andheri Magistrate by social media influencer Sapna Gill, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and his friend Ashish Surendra Yadav were both arrested. Sapna claimed in her complaint that Shaw and a friend had harassed her in public, violated her modesty, and physically assaulted her with a deadly weapon.
Sapna has made shocking allegations against a cricketer, claiming that he placed his hands on her breasts and pushed her away. An FIR has been filed against him under sections 354, 509, and 324 of IPC for assaulting her with a bat. Sapna also submitted medical proof from a government hospital to support her claim of sexual assault. Previously, Sapna was arrested in the same case but now claims that she is a victim.
In her complaint, Sapna has stated that the accused and his friends are liable for prosecution under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. She has filed this complaint in court for the offences mentioned in her statement. Additionally, Sapna’s lawyer has filed a criminal complaint against two police officers for not registering an FIR against Prithvi Shaw and others under section 354 of the IPC.
Earlier this year, on February 16, 2023, Oshiwara police arrested Sapna for allegedly assaulting Prithvi Shaw at a nightclub in Mumbai. This occurred after Shaw refused to take selfies with Sapna and her friends at Barrel Mansion Club in Vile Parle East. A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing Sapna and Shaw fighting. After four days in custody, Sapna was granted bail by a court.
Sapna’s Lawyer claims Shaw hit her with a bat
Sapna’s lawyer has alleged that Shaw hit her with a bat and that the FIR against her was based on false and bogus allegations. He claimed that Sapna approached Shaw for a selfie and he hit her with his bat while intoxicated at a party in a five-star hotel. The next day, Shaw went to the police and filed a case against Sapna.
