The much-awaited Pro Kabaddi League 2025 auction is set to take place on May 31 and June 1 in Mumbai, India. To make the season more exciting, over 500 Indian and international kabaddi players will go under the hammer.
Big names such as Pawan Sehrawat, Arjun Deshwal, Ashu Malik, Devank Dalal, Fazel Atrachali, Mohammadreza Shadloui, Maninder Singh, Pardeep Narwal and Naveen Kumar headline will be up for grabs.
Ahead of the PKL auction, a total of 83 players were retained by the 12 PKL franchises. As many as 25 of them belong to the Elite Retained Players (ERP) category while 23 of them are from the Retained Young Players (RYP) category and 35 from the New Young Players (NYP) category.
This leaves a maximum of 217 slots to be filled during the player auction. Each of the Pro Kabaddi League franchises can have a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 25 players in their squad. Furthermore, each team is allowed a minimum of two and a maximum of four overseas players in their squad.
Players have been divided into four groups for the auction.
- Category A: INR 30 Lakh
- Category B: INR 20 Lakh
- Category C: INR 13 Lakh
- Category D: INR 9 Lakh
Additionally, each group is further divided into raiders, defenders and all-rounders for franchises to shape their squads.
All teams had an initial salary purse of INR 5 crore before being adjusted for the players that they have already retained.
