The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 10 player auction has new dates! Originally set for September 8-9, the auction will now take place on October 9 and 10. This change comes after a request from the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) to allow Indian Kabaddi players to prepare for the upcoming Asian Games.
In this season, over 500 players will be part of the Player Pool, including 24 athletes from the Khelo India University Games 2023 finalists. Each franchise will have a Salary Purse of INR 5 crore to build their squads.
For the PKL Season 10 Player Auction, players will be categorized into A, B, C, and D, with further divisions into ‘All-Rounders,’ ‘Defenders,’ and ‘Raiders’ within each category. The base prices for each category are as follows: Category A – INR 30 Lakh, Category B – INR 20 Lakh, Category C – INR 13 Lakh and Category D – INR 9 Lakh.

PKL teams have already begun shaping their Season 10 squads under the League Player Policy. In August 2023, they retained players across three categories: Elite Retained Players (ERP), Retained Young Players (RYP), and Existing New Young Players (ENYP). A total of 84 players were retained, including 22 from ERP, 24 from RYP, and 38 from ENYP.
Players who were not retained, including notable names like Pawan Sehrawat, Vikash Kandola and Fazel Atrachali, will be up for bidding at the player auction in October.
Anupam Goswami, the League Commissioner of PKL, expressed excitement about the rescheduled event, stating that they anticipate strong fan interest and competitive bidding, especially for star performers from the Asian Games.
