Rachin Ravindra, the 25-year-old left-handed batsman from the New Zealand National Cricket Team, made history with his exceptional batting performance in the 6th match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Monday, February 24. The match, played between Bangladesh and New Zealand, was hosted at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Ravindra’s brilliant display helped him achieve a major milestone in the tournament.

Rachin Ravindra came in to bat after New Zealand lost both Will Young and Kane Williamson early, with the score at just 15 runs within the first four overs. It was Ravindra’s debut match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, replacing the unwell Daryl Mitchell in the playing XI.

Despite the early setbacks, Ravindra remained calm and composed. He played brilliantly against the Bangladesh bowlers, never appearing troubled. After settling in, the left-handed batsman started attacking and formed crucial partnerships with Devon Conway and Tom Latham.

Ravindra reached a run-a-ball fifty and soon focused on reaching a century. In the 35th over, he achieved his milestone, tapping a length delivery from Nahid Rana to point for a single. After removing his helmet, he reached three figures off 95 balls and stood to soak in the applause from the crowd for his remarkable achievement.
