Ravindra Jadeja Wins ‘Fielder of the Match’ As India Secures 2025 Champions Trophy Title: India won the 2025 Champions Trophy by beating New Zealand in the final by four wickets on March 9 in Dubai. It was a team effort led by Rohit Sharma, as the team faced some pressure while chasing a challenging target of 252 on a slow pitch that favored the spinners.
While both the bowlers and batters made key contributions, the fielding from both teams was a bit sloppy. For India, the standout performers were captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. They showed great athleticism and kept the energy high throughout the match.
The duo was nominated for the Best Fielder Medal by India’s fielding coach T Dilip. Dilip highlighted Rohit’s commitment on the field and praised Jadeja for his sharp fielding, cutting off angles and sending powerful throws to the stumps.
Ravindra Jadeja was ultimately awarded the medal, which he accepted with a smile, hugging coach Dilip in appreciation. The 36-year-old also posed with both his winners’ medal and Best Fielder Medal.
In addition to his fielding, Ravindra Jadeja played a key role with the ball, taking 1/30 in an important spell and also hitting the winning shot. Skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front, contributing a vital 76 off 83 runs to put pressure on the New Zealand bowlers. He was rightly named Player of the Final. This victory marked Rohit’s second ICC title as captain and his fourth as an international player.
Rohit Sharma was named Player of the Match for his outstanding 76 runs off 83 balls, which included seven boundaries and three sixes.
Rachin Ravindra won the Golden Bat and Player of the Tournament for his exceptional performances in the 2025 Champions Trophy. He scored 263 runs in four matches, averaging 65.75 with a strike rate of 106.47, including two centuries. Rachin also took three important wickets. In the final, he contributed a quick 37 off 29 balls, with four boundaries and a six.
