Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of Asia Cup, Axar Patel named as the replacement

The latest update from the BCCI has informed that Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out for the rest of the Asia Cup. India has made it into the top 4 of the championship after defeating Pakistan and Hong Kong. Jadeja played exceptionally well in both matches. He scored important runs and stayed on the pitch when most needed in the clash against Pakistan. And he showed his fielding prowess in the next game when he ran out a Hong Kong batter with an impressive direct hit on a free hit ball.

However, the recent news has updated that the Indian side would be deprived of Jadeja’s services moving forward. The apparent reason for Jadeja’s sudden exclusion from the team is stated to be a knee injury. Moreover, Axar Patel has been named his replacement for the remaining games. Axar Patel assisted the Indian side along with Shreyas Iyer, and Deepak Chahar as standbys. And thus, Patel, an all-rounder himself will now replace Ravindra Jadeja.

Axar Patel has shown great batting performance recently where he led India towards a win against West Indies in the second ODI scoring 64* off 35. Moreover, his bowling accuracy needs no introduction. The southpaw has delivered some commendable spells over the time in both international games and IPL.
