India and Pakistan are set to face each other in the coming week for the Asia Cup opener. Any games between these two cricketing rivals attract massive viewership. Moreover, the fact that these challengers play numbered games with each other further amps up the excitement. And those numbered games being in the quest to win important championships like Asia Cup or World Cup doesn’t help the matters either.
And thus the fact that the excitement of fans from both sides adds to the pressure on the respective teams goes without saying. However, recently Rohit Sharma opened up about the massive hype surrounding an India-Pakistan clash. The statement comes as they prepare to clash with Pakistan after losing their game to them in the T20 World Cup.

Expressing his views on the hype, Rohit Sharma said, “Everyone watches the game especially India vs Pakistan. Without a doubt it is a high-pressure game but within the group we want to create a normal atmosphere and don’t want to hype this game within ourselves. For us it is just a game of cricket. It is important for me and Rahul bhai to tell the players that it’s just another opposition,” he said.
Both the teams will head to UAE for the Asia Cup without their primary pace attackers. As Jasprit Bumrah misses out due to a back injury, it was revealed yesterday that Shaheen Afridi is also unfit due to a knee injury. As the threat reduces a bit for both of them, the tension surrounding the clash increases. With the whole fraternity and millions of fans peering on the much-anticipated thriller, it’ll be interesting to note their new threats to each other.
