In a weekend of Italian football action, AS Roma secured their third consecutive victory across all competitions with an impressive 4-1 triumph over Cagliari, while Napoli, the reigning champions, faced a disappointing 3-1 loss to Fiorentina on their home turf.

Roma, fresh from a Serie A victory against Frosinone and a midweek 4-0 win over Servette in the Europa League, continued their winning streak. New signing Houssem Aouar opened the scoring in the 19th minute, capitalizing on a precise pass from Leonardo Spinazzola.

The Giallorossi maintained their momentum as Romelu Lukaku, in exceptional form, added another goal, courtesy of Rick Karsdorp’s assist.

Shortly after the halftime break, Andrea Belotti showcased his skill with a dazzling run that left defenders in disarray, capping it off with a low strike into the net. Lukaku, not to be outdone, secured his second goal, this time assisted by Leandro Paredes.

Meanwhile, Napoli’s domestic winning streak came to an end at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Victor Osimhen’s penalty equalized Josip Brekalo’s early opener, but Napoli’s hopes were short-lived as Giacomo Bonaventura and Nico Gonzalez both found the net in the second half, securing a victory for Fiorentina.
