The 2025 season is the 131st edition of the competition including when it used to be Home Nations Championship and the Five Nations Championship. It is the 26th since it expanded to become the Six Nations Championship in 2000.

Ireland will enter the tournament as two-time reigning champions. They will be bidding to achieve a rare feat of winning a third consecutive title.
