Spanish midfield player Saul Niguez will return to Atletico Madrid this summer as his loan spell at the Premier League club Chelsea has come to an end. The midfielder is expected to play under Diego Simeone again next season. It is still possible that Atletico can listen to the offers for the Spanish midfielder (Saul Niguez).
Saul joined Chelsea on loan in the January transfer window (2022). He signed for the club only for 6 months which has ended now. It wasn’t a great loan spell for Saul Niguez in Chelsea FC as Thomas Tuchel who wanted him in the transfer window didn’t use him much.
Saul Niguez didn’t get enough game time in Chelsea as their midfielders namely Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante, Mason Mount, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were regular.
“Chelsea have confirmed to Atletico Madrid few weeks ago that they won’t trigger the buy option clause worth €35m for Saúl Ñíguez. Saúl will return to Atléti and he will decide his future soon after many proposals received last summer,” tweeted Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday, 8th June.
