Australian pacer Mitchell Starc will not play the second T20I against Sri Lanka due to injury. Starc got injured during the first T20I against Sri Lanka in Colombo. The Australian pace bowler sustained a finger injury.

Starc’s index finger was hurt during his very first over of the game. The medical staff put a tape on his index finger and he bowled his spell of four overs. Despite having an injury Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets, giving just 26 runs. But after the game, when Starc had a check-up, the medical staff informed him that it will not be possible for him to play the second T20I against Sri Lanka.

Starc is one of the important pacers of Australia. Australia played exceptionally well in the first T20I against Sri Lanka. They won the game by 10 wickets as both the openers, David Warner and Aaron Finch finished the game for them. But most of the credits should go to Australian bowlers as they made an amazing comeback in the game. Sri Lanka was 100/1 but got bowled out on 128 runs thanks to Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc who took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Sri Lanka and Australia will play the second T20I on Wednesday, 8th June.
