The excitement for the India Vs Pakistan game is pulsing through the audience’s veins. The wait is almost over now with just a couple of hindering days in between. The rivals are going to engage in the battle for the Asia Cup 2022 in UAE. Both the teams have reached the location with their final squads and all the preparations. It’s now up to see who grabs the match.

Currently, it’s not known as to who has the upper hand in the clash. With Pakistan’s last win over India, they’ve proved to be the side to not take lightly. But the Indian team is the undisputed leader in the Asia Cup with the most wins in the tournament. Amidst the build-up for the match, former New Zealand player Scott Syris has expressed his take on the match.

Scott Syris opines on the India-Pakistan clash

Scott Syris holds the opinion that the Pakistani side heavily depends on their top-order batsman. “They rely so heavily on this man here, Mohammad Rizwan, along with Babar Azam, because if they get them off to a start, there’s a lot of power hitting to come. So, therefore, they will look to provide the base and then Fakhar Zaman of this world with all that power and that left-handed sort of variety as well. I think coming in and maybe looking to attack the spinners, in particular, I think could work in Pakistan’s favour”, said Styris.

Well, as we know, India has a very strong T20 league as well. I think it’s the ability to come together and play the style and brand of cricket that best suits your players. I thought that was the big trick that India missed at the last T20 World Cup, as it took them about two games. The two losses they had before they just started to go after the opposition, impose themselves with the talent and skill that they’ve got. I want to see India do that in this Asia Cup”, he added.

Both the teams come to the competition without their key pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi. Afridi was deemed as the ultimate threat to the Indian top order after his last performance against India. However, now that he’s out due to a knee injury, it’s now to witness where the Pakistani bowling attack heads in his absence.
