Sergio Ramos has suffered a blow to his left hamstring and has been ruled out for Real Madrid’s remaining season.
The 35-year-old Spanish defender is still to sign a contract extension with Los Blancos and it can be said for now, that he has played his last game for the club.
The injury is also a blow for Spain’s campaign for EUROs this year and has the Spanish coach, Luis Enrique worried.
Real Madrid in their club statement said, “Following the tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with tendonitis in his left hamstring.”
Ramos has only appeared in 21 games for Los Blancos this season and has suffered injuries on 3 separate occasions.
It would be interesting to see whether Ramos signs an extension with the club or leaves at the end of the season.
