Shakib is currently leading Bangladesh in a bilateral series against England in cricket. On Thursday, Bangladesh defeated England in the first T20I of the three-match series under Shakib’s direction.
Shakib commented on his team’s victory by saying, “We can’t ask more of our team. The way we approached the game was fantastic. We were under the pump while bowling, but nobody freaked out. Everyone was aware of what they had to do. Each bowler followed his or her plan exactly. Except for me, everyone else fielded really well. That is what we want to do (an approach without fear).
“In T20s, you perform well when you don’t think too much. We are attempting to create that atmosphere in the dressing room. I hope we can go on like this. This is a fantastic beginning.
