Shikhar Dhawan, a veteran Indian opener, is doing everything in his power to complete his fairytale comeback into the Men In Blue white-ball squad despite the fact that he may not be considered for India in the World Cup year. When asked about Punjab’s performance against the former IPL champions, Dhawan attributed their 7-wicket loss to their ineffective batting lineup.

“As a batting unit, we lost too many wickets consecutively and were unable to post a significant total on the field; as a result, we lost the game. A score of 175–180 would have been acceptable. Despite having a decent appearance, the wicket was seaming and swinging. Of course it was discouraging to keep seeing wickets fall, but the wicket wasn’t behaving the way we anticipated. It was seaming and occasionally kept low. But that’s just part of my batting unit’s learning process, and that’s okay, said Dhawan.
