Shriyanka Sadangi’s outstanding performance in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Asian Shooting Championship secured India’s 13th quota spot for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Shriyanka Sadangi achieved a significant milestone for India by clinching the 13th Paris 2024 Olympics quota in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Asian Shooting Championship.
Securing the quota with her impressive fourth-place finish, Shriyanka’s performance was notable as she scored 440.5, exiting the final after the 43rd shot, distributed across kneeling, prone, and standing positions. The gold was claimed by experienced Korean Lee Eunseo, while China’s Han Jiayu and Xia Siyu secured silver and bronze respectively.
Indian women shooters displayed remarkable proficiency from the qualification stage. Sift Kaur Samra topped the field with a score of 592, while Ashi Chouksey secured the first qualifying spot among contenders and second overall with a score of 591. Shriyanka Sadangi and Ayushi Podder also showcased their skills with scores of 588 and 587 respectively. Manini Kaushik ranked 10th overall with a score of 586.

During the final, Shriyanka emerged strong from the start, maintaining a consistent performance. The standing position saw her confirm the Paris quota in her name with an exceptional score. Additionally, Shriyanka, along with Ashi and Ayushi, clinched the women’s 3P team gold with a combined tally of 1766 over Kazakhstan and Korea.
Shriyanka’s achievement not only secured India’s 13th Paris quota but also marked a collective success for Indian women shooters at the Asian Shooting Championship.
