The ISMF Ski Mountaineering World Championship 2025 will get underway from 3 to 8 March in Morgins, Switzerland.
The 13th edition will see 400 athletes from 25 countries compete across three individual events (individual race, vertical race, sprint race) and two team events (mixed relay and team event).
This biennial competition will have a total of five sets of medals.
This will be the last major Ski Mountaineering event before the sport makes its Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026, within a year.
The ISMF Ski Mountaineering World Championships 2025 will also serve as a direct qualifier for the upcoming Winter Olympics, with quotas* available in each of the three Olympic events on the programme: four (two men and two women) in the mixed relay, two in the women’s sprint, and two in the men’s sprint.
The last World Ski Mountaineering Championships in Boí Taüll, Spain, saw France topp the medal table ahead of Switzerland and Italy.
