The FIS Snowboard World Cup 2024-25 – Parallel Slalom arrives in Davos, Switzerland for the third stop of the season. The event will take place on Saturday, December 21. 

The women’s and men’s field will be headlined by Miki Tsubaki and Daniele Bagozza, respectively. While Tsubaki has a 35-point lead, Bagozza maintains 5-point leads.

Let us have a look at the athletes to watch out for at FIS Snowboard World Cup 2024-25- Parallel Slalom. 

Miki Tsubaki (Japan)

Tsubaki started her 2024-25 season with an impressive form, finishing 2nd and 1st at the opening two events in Yanqing. 

Renowned for her blistering speed down the slope, Miki is making a case for herself as one of the favourites for the Crystal Globe, and a potential medal contender in the giant slalom at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

The 21-year-old will also be in contention in the parallel giant slalom (PGS) World Cup where she is currently placed third. She would be looking for her second straight victory having won the 2023 world championships. 

Daniele Bagozza (Italy)

Bagozza earned the top spot in the standings after claiming the fifth World Cup win of his career in the parallel slalom in Yanqing two weeks ago (December 8). He currently holds the most slender of leads over his compatriot Gabriel Messner.

The Italian will be looking to register a memorable win at Snowboard World Cup 2024-25 in Davos in the run up to the Olympic final in 2026.

Ester Ledecká (Czechia)

Despite an underwhelming start to the world cup season, Ledecká, the double Olympic PGS champion, has the potential to bounce back. A podium finish at Snowboard World Cup 2024-25 in Davos might just prove to be a game changer for her.  

The 29-year-old has been incredible in the past reaching the PSL World Cup podium 11 times throughout her career, with six race wins and four parallel overall titles. She finished the 2023/24 season in third place, and would seek to improve the standings this time around at Snowboard World Cup 2024-25.

Benjamin Karl (Austria)

Another athlete to look for is Austria’s Benjamin Karl who is one of the most decorated players in all of snowboarding. He has five world titles, three Olympic medals, and one crystal globe to his name.

The Beijing 2022 champion clinched his first overall World Cup title in the PGS in the 2023-24 season. However, he is yet to finish higher than 3rd in the PSL- the position he currently holds after two races, finishing 2nd and 5th in Mylin and Yanqing respectively.
