Social trends changing from Tokyo Olympics to IPL in Dubai
The trend of the Tokyo Olympics in social media started to go down a little bit. There were three days of felicitation ceremonies at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Now, all the attention from social media is towards the second -half of the IPL 2021 which is being shifted to UAE due to COVID-19 concerns in India. With IPL2021 which was suspended after the first half was conducted due to a raise in COVID-19 cases inside the bio-bubble environment of various teams.
As the second half of the IPL which is going to begin from next month, the IPL teams have started to travel to the United Arab Emirates to play the remaining of their league. As the excitement to watch the IPL 2021 second half is growing bigger among the fans. Using this opportunity, the franchises creating momentum for their IPL team by doing social media campaigns.
Most successful franchise in the IPL, which has won 5 times the IPL times posted a Tweet mentioning that “Rahul Chahar’s arrival in UAE”. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya who plays for Mumbai Indians is seen enjoying the beauty of UAE. Hardik Pandya also shared pictures on Instagram sitting behind a huge dining table. The all-rounder posted, “Best food and best vibes @gudeepizzacafe”.
Earlier even Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shared pictures of their stars in Chennai airport on Twitter. “Get ready folks”, CSK captioned the picture of legendary MS Dhoni, who is also the captain of Chennai Super Kings. Chennai Super Kings was positioned second in the points table before IPL 2021 was suspended due to COVID-19 concerns.
The middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer who recovered off late from a shoulder injury has reached Dubai. Shreyas Iyer was unable to captain the side in the 2021 edition of the IPL due to an on-field injury during an ODI in Pune. His Delhi-Capitals teammate Rishabh Pant was given a captaincy role in his absence in the first half of the IPL 2021.
In the meantime, Sharjah Cricket Stadium is showing a lot of eagerness to host the second half of the tournament. The stadium administrators have announced that Sharjah will have new upgrades ahead of the IPL 2021. New pitches, Fit Capital gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, steam, and sauna area will be built in the stadium. Sharjah is scheduled to host 10 IPL matches.
